PRESENTATION NIGHT 2017
RAIN DIDN’T DAMPEN THE PRESENTATIONS
The night commenced with a Slide Show of events from late 2016 to 2017. Notable achievements were:-
Queensland Selection – Noelene Dutton & Sue O’Toole
District Championship Winners – Ladies Singles – Sue O’Toole, Ladies Triples – Liz Ferguson (FG), Denice McLean & Sue O’Toole
Champion of Champion State Playoff Ladies 4’s – Lee Evans, Pat Wales, Robyn Williams & Kelly Gauntlett
State District Mixed Pairs – Kelly Gauntlett & Raymond Bax
Pennant Players of the year were next to be announced. The last 5 Rounds in all Divisions were done individually and the 2nd last Round disclosed the Tally Board, then the highest scorers in the last Round were revealed before the Winners were announced.
Division 1 Ladies – Joint Winners Amy Evans & Sue O’Toole
Men – Dan Keogh
Division 3 Ladies – Cathie Judd (Cathie was absent on the night)
Men – Col Albert
Division 6 Men – Joint Winners Mark Catchpole & Frank Nilon (Frank was absent on the night)
Various funny stories about mishaps of some of our members were told and it was announced that Takki Ohira was leaving the Club to return to Melbourne. Takki’s smiling face will certainly be missed around the greens.
AND finally the Championship Winners for 2017 were announced:-
Singles Ladies – Noelene Dutton Men – Dan Keogh
Fours Ladies – Lee Evans, Pat Wales, Robyn Williams & Kelly Gauntlett
Men – Mal Greig, Dan Keogh, Alan Brown & Simon Dunleavy
Pairs Ladies – Lee Evans & Kelly Gauntlett Men – Bilbo & Raymond Bax
Triples Ladies – Julie Donaldson, Barbara McInnes & Kay Cavanagh
Men – Steve Bemrose, Nathan Schumacher & Mardy Foster
Mixed Consistency Alan Brown
B Grade Singles Les Duvey (Les was absent on the night but Robyn Williams accepted the award)
Special mention must be made of Bilbo Bax who is now the youngest Championship Winner at Windsor Bowls Club, at age 15. In the Mens 4’s, 2017 was Mal Greig & Alan Brown’s 7th consecutive
4’s Championship win, and Daniel Keogh winning his 4th consecutive A Singles.
Not to be outdone, Sue O’Toole has now won her 3rd consecutive Ladies District Singles Title.
The new Inductees to the Honour Board for 2017 are:-

During the visual presentation it was announced that the Club has done 10 Bunnings Sausage Sizzles, and a total of over $11,000 raised during the year to date. Congratulations to Wendy and Margie as well as all the members who have done their turn at Bunnings. This money will go a long way to help with some of the projects that are currently on our books.
